Greetings from the New GSA Officers

June 02, 2010

The new GSA Officers officially began their terms on June 1, 2010.  We are really looking forward to continuing the exceptional representation that was displayed by the previous administration.  In the coming year, we have a lot of exciting opportunities to advocate for all graduate and professional students.

We are looking forward to working with the various graduate and professional student groups on campus.  If you are involved in a leadership position with one of these groups, we will be reaching out to you to help make GSA stronger than ever.  Remember that every Graduate and Professional student at UGA is automatically a member of GSA, so make sure that your voice is being heard.

We are excited to be hosting a reception for the new Graduate Students on August 11th, immediately following Graduate School Orientation.  The reception will be held at the 4th floor rotunda of the Miller Learning Center from 12:00 to 2:00 PM and it will be a great opportunity for the new students to get involved with GSA.

We are also eager to continue to advocate for graduate and professional students in all aspects of student life.  We spent May and June meeting representatives from the President's office, the Provost's office, Student Affairs, Human Resources, and many other individuals who shape policy for students.  We are looking forward to building on these relationships in the coming year and voicing your concerns.

If there is anything we can do for you as graduate and professional students, please don't hesitate to ask.  We work for you, so let us know your thoughts.

Have a great year.

Regards,

Jason O'Rouke
